Herring, Eagles, Seals and Sealions

Hornby island Beach

Erin, Darrin, Mabel and I spent last weekend at Hornby Island. The Herring run was on so we walked around Hellywell park a few times to look at the Seals and Eagles. There were easily over 30 eagles all over the place but mainly centered on where the Herring seemed to be. The water was almost white where the fish were laying the eggs. We found cut-up herring on the ground under some of the popular Eagle trees.

Tobi, Chad and I went for a mountain bike ride up to the cliffs. I used Ron's stinky for a fun change. What a blast, I'm really glad the three of us got to spend some time together, just us. I'd like to have something that the three of us do every year together (at least) since we always have so much fun. Maybe I'll plan something for when we come back for the wedding in September.

I'm forgetting the whole reason for going to Hornby though which was for Dad's 60th birthday! Woohoo! The birthday party was a blast.
