Training and then BC

We're running behind on our blog updates. We're really busy with preparing our trip plans back to BC and our upcoming training weekend for our Language Assistant positions in Quebec. Both of us have spoken with our teachers at the high-schools we'll be working in. Mabel's is very organized and has a set schedule, mine is very flexible and more relaxed about it - so overall a good match for both of us. Both teachers have great attitudes which was one of the worries.
First thing we'll be doing is going surfing when we arrive in BC. Yahooooooo!

Up the Mountain

Finally the weather has cooled down a bit here in the city. It's been ridiculously humid and hot. Today we had a nice overcast day. Louise, Aaron & I took advantage of this and headed to Mount St. Anne for a hike. Mount St. Anne is THE place to go skiing here. It's relatively close to our place, about 40 min drive. Not any where close to the altitudes of BC ski hills. We hiked the mountain in about an hour and a half. Aaron cruised up, Louise and I huffed and puffed a bit. Took the gondola down after we reached the top. There were lots of mountain bikers out and we saw about 50 huskies in their kennel. Aaron wanted to pet them but they looked pretty aggressive to me :|

Fireworks from China

Fireworks
Originally uploaded by Longbean.
On Saturday night a bunch of us went for a drive to view the fireworks at the waterfalls. We didn't want to pay to view close up so we sat on a hill across the river. It was China's turn to do the fireworks (they invented them), next week it's another country. The weekend after that will be the finale which should be good. We only wore shorts which was too little as it is getting a little chilly at night.
