Bottling Wine & Last day of work

Bottling Wine

We recently bottled our wine for the wedding. It's a Blush Zinfandel. Very tasty for those wanting a half red half white wine. I'm not a big wine connoisseur but it's yummers.

Tomorrow is our last day of work! The staff threw us a party yesterday, giving us cake, wine (more!) and best of all: Lonely Planet books for Canada and Quebec. We're set! We also have our French CD's to listen to on the way.

This Saturday we head to Tofino to go surfing for the weekend with Chad and Susana.

Camping in the Rain

It's been a wet 24 hrs at Sandcut Beach. Aaron and I had a fun weekend there toughing it out in the rain. Dana & Chris came out with us to walk around the beach. We saw 3 eagles and a bird that looked like Big Bird, eating away at a washed-up dead baby orca!
We spent a fairly cold night in Alexis' Roadrunner Northface tent. It weathered pretty well but we did wake up abit wet. Can't wait till our new Sierra Design tent arrives!

Herring, Eagles, Seals and Sealions

Hornby island Beach

Erin, Darrin, Mabel and I spent last weekend at Hornby Island. The Herring run was on so we walked around Hellywell park a few times to look at the Seals and Eagles. There were easily over 30 eagles all over the place but mainly centered on where the Herring seemed to be. The water was almost white where the fish were laying the eggs. We found cut-up herring on the ground under some of the popular Eagle trees.

Tobi, Chad and I went for a mountain bike ride up to the cliffs. I used Ron's stinky for a fun change. What a blast, I'm really glad the three of us got to spend some time together, just us. I'd like to have something that the three of us do every year together (at least) since we always have so much fun. Maybe I'll plan something for when we come back for the wedding in September.

I'm forgetting the whole reason for going to Hornby though which was for Dad's 60th birthday! Woohoo! The birthday party was a blast.

It's getting warmer! We're having to turn the heat down in the house now, soon it will be completely off. This weekend we head for Hornby Island for my Dad's 60th. We're aparently setup to stay in a farm house but we're going to camp instead. We haven't been there since Easter last year. We're all bringing our bikes (Erin,Darrin,Mabel & Aaron) to go biking with my sister Tobi and her significant other Ron.
