Mabel read this first, and I just finished it. It's a great book.. amazing read for Audrey Niffengger's first book. I highly recommend it as it will keep you reading and always keep things interesting.

In Tadoussac (NE of Quebec city) they have giant sand dunes/hills. To get some idea of the size, you can see the car at the top. It's a long steep way down. We used ski poles to climb back up.

Breakfast at L'Astral (the spinning restaurant on the hotel). The food wasn't impressive but the view was.

Sure is hard to get a photo of these birds, they don't stop moving. I'm in a cage with a small cup of sugar water. When I walked in I was swarmed by these birds. Very fun experience. Mabel watches from the safer exterior.

Here's all the details of the insides of the sugar shack.

Collecting sap from maple trees. It's the new 'hi-tec' way of doing it instead of using buckets. These hoses are stuck into the tree with a plastic nobby and feed to larger and larger hoses. The largest hose feeds to a shack with a big vacuum which sucks the sap into a big tank. You can see the sap pouring into the tank all day.
