First day skiing in the park!

I just finished reading this book. It's a very good story. Previous to this was Harry Potter: the Half-Blood prince, Star Trek: Vengence (cheesy but fun), Douglas Adams: Mostly Harmless. Not sure what's next. I have a few books lined up.
We have a fair bit of snow now. We should have at least 10cm by tomorrow. It's category 3 snow (it'll be here until spring)!

We're headed for Wilberforce for the weekend and then Toronto after that until Tuesday. We'll be staying at a cabin/house with all of our friends from Toronto and possibly Montreal. It'll be a house crasher!

This van (unoccupied at this time) slid at the bottom of the hill, pushing over a street sign (back left) and sliding to a stop. At least that's what looks like happened. This is eye witness news, from Quebec City.

We picked up some new hardware yesterday. It's a Singer Stylist 514. It came with this nifty table it folds down into. It's solid steel construction and has a lof of nice features. Our intent was to buy a new sewing machine but we're going to wait (if this one works properly) until we get back to BC because the store out here are almost non-existant.

We started the day with nothing. We end the day fully outfitted for XC ski fun! Yes, those are wood skiis on the left! Fish skins on the right. Smooth leather booties and bamboo poles. From the generosity of Quebec streets, friends and second-hand sports store. Now for some snow!

Could it be? Will it really finally happen? 90% Chance!

The city started testing it's snow clearing lights last night. We were confused because we thought maybe they wanted to clear the fallen leaves. Hopefully they're getting ready for the snowfall that's coming soon. When the lights flash, we have to move our car to an underground parking lot. I'll see if I can get a photo of the lights.

A look back at our surfing days before our wedding...
